Meet Daryl Carter, MS, LPC
I earned my Bachelor of Science with a concentration in Sociology and Social Work from Eastern Mennonite University in 2008, followed by a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2013. In 2014, I furthered my education by completing a Post-Master’s Certificate in Professional Counseling. My passion lies in helping people alleviate their suffering while gaining a deeper understanding of their experiences.
With extensive experience working with adolescents and adults in residential, intensive in-home, and outpatient settings, I use an integrative approach that allows me to tailor my methods to each client’s unique needs. I incorporate a variety of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Therapy, all designed to help clients achieve their personal goals. My practice emphasizes rapport-building and creating a safe, supportive space where clients feel comfortable expressing their thoughts, emotions, and fears. My commitment is to guide individuals toward health and wellness, not only in their mental health but across all areas of their lives.
My specialties include:
- Substance use and abuse disorders
- Childhood trauma
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
- Co-occurring disorders
- Mood disorders
- Anxiety disorders
- Depressive disorders
- Men’s issues
